Yaounde Reunification

Cameroon’s Reunification Monument was constructed in the 1970s to memorialize the post-colonial merging of British and French Cameroon. Located in Yaounde, it was designed by Gedeon Mpondo and Engelbert Mveng. Another reunification monument, albeit far less well-known, is located in Mamfe.
Waza National Park
Waza National Park is a national park in the Department of Logone-et-Chari, in Far North Region, Cameroon. It was founded in 1934 as a hunting reserve, and covers a total of 1,700 square kilometres. Waza achieved national park status in 1968, and became a UNESCO biosphere reserve in 1979.
Municipal Lake
Municipal Lake in Yaoundé’s Lake Quarter with the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications – MINPOSTEL (right).The capital city of Cameroon has a population of approximately 3 million people (in 2019), it is the country’s second largest city after the port city of Douala.

Dja Wildlife

Dja Faunal Reserve is one of the best protected forests in Africa. It is located in South Region (Ebolowa), hosts a large population of gorillas, chimpanzees and elephants. The Dja River flows round most of the park, and acts as a natural barrier to poachers.

The Mvog-Beti Zoo

The Mvog-Betsi Zoo is a botanical and zoological park located in Centre Region (Yaounde), Cameroon. It is administered by the country’s Ministry of Forestry and Fauna (MINFOF) , and there is a wide range of species at the zoo, including big cats, reptiles, and birds of prey. Ape Action Africa has taken responsibility for the care of the primates at the zoo.

Limbe Wildlife Centre
Limbe Wildlife Centre located in South West Region (Limbe) specialises in the rescue of threatened wildlife and their rehabilitation into their natural habitat. Animals rescued from hunters and pet traders include a number of endangered species like the western lowland gorilla, the drill, preuss monkey and the African grey parrot.

Bandjoun Royal Place

Bandjoun (La ‘Djo in local language) is a town and commune in the Koung-Khi Department in the West Region of (Bandjoun) Cameroon. Bandjoun is also the capital of the Koung-Khi department, and one of the largest traditional chiefdom (chefferie) in Bamiléké country. The chief dwells in Hialah.
Korup National Park
Korup National Park is in South West Region (Mundemba)and extends over 1,260 km2 of mostly undisturbed primary forest. It is reputedly one of Africa’s oldest and richest tropical forests in terms of floral and faunal diversity. It is the most accessible rainforest national park in Cameroon.
Bouba Ndjida National Park
Located in South West Region (Mundemba). A total of 23 antelope species occur in the park. The painted hunting dog, Lycaon pictus, had been observed in Bouba Njida National Park at the start of the 21st century.

The Waza National Park

Located far North, Maroua was founded in the year 1934 and was originally meant for hunting reserves. However, in the year 1968, it was converted into a National Park with a land area of about 1,700 km and even became a UNESCO biosphere reserve
Mount Cameroon
It is located in South west Region (Buea) an active volcano in Cameroon near the Gulf of Guinea. Mount Cameroon is also known as Cameroon Mountain or Fako or by its indigenous name Mongo ma Ndemi (“Mountain of Greatness”).
